About the event

Workshop topic:

What are the magic tricks to make young people fall madly in love with public transport – and stay faithful throughout their adolescence and adulthood? This is an invite to share your good initiatives targeted at 16-25-year-olds. But also to share the great ideas that failed to meet the target. This can be campaigns, tailormade tickets, partnerships and cocreation, new bus products or your insights into the minds of the younger travellers.

The workshop will be hosted by Movia, which is considering to make one of the following presentations:

Partnerships with Secondary Education

Movia has formalised the dialogue with Secondary Education (16-20 years old) through a yearly meeting where we try to align timetables and School schedules. Movia provides target-made mobility information for students, mobility info on web sides and personalised SoMes.

What´s important for younger travellers

A glance into the minds of the young travellers: Their thoughts on and fears of using public transport. The survey outlines a number of recommendations on how to make young travellers (more) comfortable in public transport.

Involving young people in the design of tickets targeted at the young

Movia invited 15 young people and board members to co-create a new ticket scheme for young people. The new scheme should be revenue-neutral and still make public transport more attractive for the target group.

Workshop participant responsibilities:

Each interested participating organisation must make a presentation related to the workshop topic. Depending on the number of participating organisations/PTAs the presentations should not last longer than 10 and 20 minutes. Participating organisations provide a preliminary title of the presentation and the presenter's name (preferably when registering).
